“There is no passion to be found in playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

– Nelson Mandela

The more I work with women entrepreneurs, the more I realize that making a difference through their business is an essential part to feeling a sense of fulfillment in life.

I believe that we, as entrepreneurs and business owners, have a wonderful opportunity to express our passions, achieve our dreams and make a positive impact through our businesses.  In fact, when you are aligned with your purpose, your business becomes an expression of your passions, as well as the contribution that you want to make in the world.

What lasting impact and difference do you want to make through your business?  And what does that look like for you?

I ask this because the way in which you choose to make a difference in your business will be different from others.

Just as your fingerprint is unique to you, it is the same when it comes to your unique version of making a difference through your business.

Here are three examples I would like to share with you of how some of my clients are choosing to make a difference through their business.

For example, one of my clients is a physician who is making a difference by revolutionizing the delivery of quality health care services.

Another client is a divorce attorney who is making a difference by ensuring the financial well-being and peace of mind for women and their children.

And another client is a spa owner who is making a difference by integrating beauty with heart-centered wellness and meditation from the inside out.

There are also other ways to make a difference through your business that can result in creating a ripple effect of good in the world.

Contributing to creating a powerful social impact is what I call your “social promise”.  A social promise is about doing good while doing well in business.  It includes a dual goal of combining profits with a mission to better society.

The concept of businesses contributing to creating positive social change and impact is not a new idea.  In fact, the concept of corporate social responsibility has been in existence since at least the 1960s.

However, delivering change to communities and the world has really become more main stream in the last decade as large corporations and non-profit organizations have been involved in the movement.

So what does this mean for you?  Simply, the more you make the more you can change your life and the lives of others for the better.

Fulfilling your social promise can be expressed in many ways, such as giving back locally or globally to worthy causes and issues you care about most. There are many methods to do so.  This is just one example.

The truth is you don’t have to wait to activate your social promise or to make a meaningful difference.  You already have the power at this very moment to shape how you want to contribute to making the world a better place.

In fact, your social promise can enable you to change lives and enrich your own life—as well as your bottom line—beyond your wildest dreams.

This is because the Universal and Spiritual Laws of prosperity and abundance are activated when you undertake your life’s work while honoring and serving the highest good of yourself and others.

What I know is that when women are empowered, together we can make this world a much better place for all of us.
