“A Woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river-flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.” ~ Maya Angelou
When women decide to become a business owner and entrepreneur, it’s not something that we take likely. This is because our business is an extension and an expression of who we are and the difference we are here to make in our own unique way.
Forbes refers to entrepreneurship as the new “Women’s Movement.” Women are starting their own businesses at a more rapid rate than ever before. Many women are leaving their corporate jobs to experience greater freedom and flexibility, a more meaningful way to make a difference, and to take control of their income and livelihoods.
Experiencing a more meaningful way to make a difference is certainly a key ingredient for women entrepreneurs to feel fulfilled and aligned with their soul’s purpose.
This is also the case for me. Actually, I didn’t start out with the intention of becoming an entrepreneur. I experienced a high level of success in the corporate arena with all the trappings of success. Yet I consistently felt an inner restlessness that I was meant to do something more, be more and have more. The call was growing louder and louder as each year passed by.
The pivotal turning point for me was the day I almost died when everything began to spin really fast while driving. I managed to get off the road and help. While waiting to have an MRI at the hospital, I realized that if I didn’t make a change I would forfeit my future, health, well-being, happiness….and my soul would dim its light.
I knew right there and then that I had to answer the call. And the rest is as they say “history’.
If my story resonates with you and you are on the path of entrepreneurship, then you have answered your call.
It’s important to remember that if this is the case for you, then you a visionary change maker and you must not settle for less. You want to make a significant impact and be richly rewarded for doing what you love. There is nothing wrong with wanting or asking for more.
What I know is that the world needs your gifts, the messages you have to share, and then the differences you can make will unfold naturally.
